Upon first seeing this picture, my immediate interpretation was that you were falling instead of flying, and was gonna remind you to stop fiddling with those airplane door latches (they say don't touch for a reason!), but then it occured to me that you have learned to fly, and have drastically improved your predicament.

A nice, simple little piece. It looks like the cover of a kids book, honestly. I think I would like to see more minimalistic pieces like this.

The feeling of this pic is really amazing. It feels like he's wanting wings.

I think that the composition works for the most part; I would say that maybe you could've shifted one of the clouds to the upper left hand corner so there wouldn't be so much negative space, but it may end up hurting the piece more than helping, so that's up to you.

I really like your color choices, and I like the pose you put Kuya in. The foreshortening works well; I would pooch out his belly a bit more, as it seems a tad flat for a lion that loves to eat!

His expression seems a tad ambiguous; it seemed to me like he was falling at first. But, that said, I don't think an extreme expression of happiness or fear or excitement would work as well; maybe Kuya's having mixed feelings about flying, like he's happy that he can fly, but then being that high in the air would be scary.

Overall, I think you did quite a good job with this. Sometimes it's nice to just sit down and do a more minimalistic piece.
